Day 1 – The Adventure Begins
Michael woke up bright and early this morning (at 630am!) to start our long journey to San Francisco. The last time he was there was when he was about 4 weeks old. I don’t think he could even see anything yet at that age. So we decided to visit the city once again now that he can appreciate all the different sights the city has to offer. Our main goals were to eat good food, ride every form of public transportation, and visit places that were kid-friendly.
Here is Michael patiently waiting to board his plane at Gate 14!
This was Michael’s first plane ride, and he loved everything about it – the view above the clouds, the fact that he had his own seat, and of course, the honey-roasted peanuts!
After an hour flight we arrived in Oakland, and already Michael was having a great time.
We hopped onto AirBART which was a bus that took us from the airport to the BART station. We are so impressed at how smoothly the bay area runs with public transportation. This was also Michael’s first public bus ride! (Lots of firsts are going to happen in these next posts.)
Finally at the BART station, waiting for our train to the city.
First public subway/train ride. We see the light at the end of the tunnel! SF here we come!
