Michael at 3 Years Old

Since Michael will be starting Preschool in the Fall, it is required that he get a physical done for school records, and it just so happened that he was due for his 3 Year Checkup! I love that we can tackle two things at the same time. =) He is currently 37 inches tall (29th percentile) and weighs 32 pounds (55th percentile). He may be on the shorter side because he's got my genes to blame. Sorry Michael.

Michael loves going to see the doctor.
They asked him to draw a picture of himself, and this is what he drew. A lollipop head with a Sesame Street inspired face and one eyebrow. lol

Interesting Facts about Michael:
  • He is a collector. Whatever he's into for the day, he will search and store them in his backpack. Before they were yogurtland spoons or pencils, now they are coins, bouncy balls, golf balls, and classic cars. He can spot Gran Torinos and Chevy Novas on the street and will say that those are his favorite cars.
  • He is a sports fanatic! He will always gravitate towards a ball even when other toys are offered. He is so coordinated that he can successfully hit a baseball that is pitched overhand. Maybe we can skip tee-ball?
  • He loves to drive his powerwheels. With minimal instruction, he can back the car out of the garage, turn the wheel, go forward, zoom down the driveway at full speed, and drive up and down the street. When he's done, he pulls into the driveway and parks perfectly next to daddy's truck.
  • He can spell and write his name. He can sound out all the letters as he tries to read words.
  • He's on a better sleeping schedule, Hallelujah! But we still have a lot of work to do in order for him to wake up on time for school.
  • He's almost 100% potty trained. He only wears sports themed underwear, and wears them all day and all night. He doesn't wet the bed, goes pee in the big toilet, but is afraid to go #2 in the toilet. In that case, he will request for a pull-up. Still a work in progress...
  • Favorite food: Miso soup, Tofu, rice and edamame
  • Favorite veggies: broccoli, peas, carrots
  • Favorite dessert: Baskin Robbins Mint Chip or Yogurtland Cookies and Cream with Popping Boba/Mochi
  • Favorite shows: Team Umizoomi, Pocoyo
  • He appears to be very rough in nature and very aggressive but exremely playful, and he can also be a total sweetheart. He is very affectionate and will show you how much he loves you with hugs and kisses.

Scooter's Jungle

Zachary celebrated his 2nd birthday party at Scooter's Jungle in Hawthorne, and it is much more fun than the one by our house. They had the same tall slide and jumpy house with a zipline, but they had this super tall jungle gym enclosed with a super fast slide. Michael had a blast!
He had no fear going down the big slide by himself. Forwards, backwards, sideways, you name it.
Zachary! The birthday boy!
They all loved getting their picture taken!
Happy Birthday Zach! Thanks for having us at your party!

The Races in Santa Anita

Jason and Michael did so well the last time we were in Santa Anita that we thought they should test their luck a second time. And today's visit was like a complete 180; it was scorching hot and they didn't win. But we had a great time with great company! Lola, Tita Carmel, Auntie Karen, Uncle Niv and the Cooks were there to celebrate with us. It was the last race of the season and they were handing out lawn-chairs which was an added bonus!

These two always have fun together.

Jason Turns 35!

With all of the Michael festivities going on, we didn't forget about Jason! This year he turned the big 35! And to celebrate his birthday, we planned a Vegas trip...but that isn't until May. Happy Birthday, Jason! You deserve all the happiness in the world! We are so grateful for the life you provide us. Michael and I love you so much!
All caked out so we got a birthday pecan pie!

Pump It Up Party

Michael invited all his friends and family to Pump it Up for his 3rd and final birthday celebration. As soon as we got home, he ran over to Jason and said "Thank you Daddy for my party. I love you." It was the sweetest thank you. =)

Michael is such a silly poser.
We had a sock monkey themed party
Smash cake

I've never seen Michael sit for the final group picture...ever! At least he made it in this one. =)

Make a Wish, Michael!

Happy 3rd Birthday Michael. You are our precious little monkey!

Easter & Birthday Celebration

I guess when you're three, you get three birthday parties! And since Easter falls around his birthday almost every year, we decided to combine the two events. I know Jesus wouldn't have minded. ;) We had a crazy egg-hunt with about 180 eggs for 3 kids, yummy food, cake pops and a mint-chocolate chip ice cream cake to top it off! Happy 3rd Birthday again, Michael! You are truly loved.

Easter at the Park

After the game, we headed to the Tustin Sports Park for an early Easter celebration with Jason's family. The kids had their egg hunt as soon as we arrived. This wasn't their first egg hunt but for some reason they were confused at what to do at first. Then we feasted on burgers, sausages, pasta and potato salads, cake, and cake pops!

Is there an egg in the tree?
Yeah there is...a golden egg with some $ inside!
Each kid had his/her own basket filled with goodies. Even Emily was busy opening her eggs.
The boys had a lot of fun playing soccer!
