We had some pre-Easter fun at Irvine Park’s Eggstravaganza with Kathy and Ethan. The boys went on a free rock hunt before the egg hunt, and actually, I think they had more fun filling up their baskets with rocks… I’ve noticed that the free stuff is usually more fun. Works for me! Michael opened all his eggs and found mostly hard candy and stickers. Peppermint candies and jolly ranchers aren’t the most appropriate candies for 2-4 year olds. Oh well, he didn’t notice that they ended up in the trash because there were so many activities. They jumped around in the bounce house, visited the Easter Bunny, and rode the train. We finished off the afternoon feeding the ducks and peacocks until it was time for a nap.
Is this duck meant to be sat on? Michael thought so.
It was time to get ready for the egg hunt, but the boys decided to start a “rock hunt”.
At the start of the hunt, all the kids ran over to the eggs, whereas Michael got distracted by this red flower… and so did this boy.
Once Michael got hunting, he was on a roll. Each kid was limited to 8 eggs, but he found 12 so I secretly opened the eggs and threw back the ones with not so good goodies. ;)
Yes, he’s opening a Jolly Rancher. Who gives hard candies to 2 year olds?? Seriously!
Michael rarely poses next to characters, but he loved the Easter Bunny for some reason
After all the Easter fun, the boys pitched some bread to the ducks. These boys can throw!
