Happy Birthday Tita Carmel

To celebrate Tita Carmel's twenty-something-th birthday, we had a nice, delicious dinner at the Summithouse.  For all you prime rib and creamed corn fanatics, this is a great place to dine at and it's local!  We all had a 3 course meal and tons of creamed corn.  They even packed us extra corn to go! lol.  The service was excellent, and they were surprised at how good Michael was at the dinner table.  The pianist played a song for Michael and had him guess what it was.  It was a fancy, frilly version of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.  As soon as Michael recognized the song, his eyes lit up and his face had the biggest grin!
Happy Birthday Tita Carmel!

Thank you for the wonderful dinner Lolo and Lola!  And Happy Birthday Carmel!

A Playdate with Charlotte

Joyce, Charlotte and Adeyln's Grandma, invited Michael and me to the La Habra Children's Museum for a nice little playdate. The last time Michael saw Charlotte, he hugged her and gave her a kiss, and Charlotte told him she missed him.  It was the cutest thing.  So we thought they were going to play together very well, but there wasn't much interaction today.  Joyce was still Charlotte's playmate, and I was Michael's.  And when either of us wasn't playing, the kids were off doing their own thing.  Michael spent most of his time playing with the balls or anything you can throw, while Charlotte wanted to play princess.  It must be the fact that they're 2 yrs old and of the opposite sex.

Holiday Fantasy at Disneyland

Disneyland held a Holiday Fantasy event for a select group of annual passholders after regular park hours.  We weren't chosen officially invited by Disney, but James was.  He was able to bring 3 passholders so he graciously invited Jason, Michael and me!  It was the official first day of Christmas in the park, and we're glad we were one of the first people to experience it.
The beautiful castle all lit up

We visited with a few rare characters like Br'er Rabbit.  Br'er Fox and Br'er Bear were there too, but the pics didn't come out too good.

And the Gingerbread Man! There were about 20 characters out, but the lines were just too long.

Thanks to James and Allison for a fun night out despite James fighting a really bad cold!

Adelyn's 4th Birthday

Adelyn celebrated her 4th Birthday at Chuck E. Cheese with a cute Hello Kitty themed party.  I'm so glad Hello Kitty is making a comeback; it brings back memories of my childhood. =)

Michael and Ethan enjoyed the cupcakes

Thank you Adelyn for a fun time at Chuck E. Cheese! Hope you enjoyed your party!

Bowling Fun

Our usual Friday night activity involves being at Disneyland or Chuck E Cheese, but today, we chose to change it up.  Instead, we went bowling at the Concourse Bowling Alley.  It was a ton of fun...and just may be added to our list of Friday night activities!
Michael played in the arcade while we waited for our lane.  We played on Lane 11 on 11.11.11!
Daddy helped Michael roll the heavy 6 lb. bowling ball down the lane

After a few frames, Michael got the hang of it. He could have gotten a strike had he thrown the ball hard enough!

Look at the smile of a winner!

Jason did really well and got a turkey...that's 3 strikes in a row!
Kris, Jay and Carmel joined us for the fun too.

Star Sighting at Disneyland

An evening out for a nice stroll and some hot chocolate at Downtown Disney turned out to be quite an event!  Jason, Michael and I headed to Downtown Disney at about 9:30 at night, and initially, our idea was to grab a warm drink and walk around where we wouldn't find anything to buy.  Since the shops there don't interest us much, we decided to take the monorail into Disneyland.  We only had time to ride one ride, and that ride was Buzz Lightyear, chosen by Michael himself.

Everytime we get off Buzz Lightyear, Michael takes off running down the halls eager to email his photo.  On our way out, a group of people were being escorted by a few Disney cast members - could be a star or just a bunch of lucky Disney guests.  As Michael was running down, the first two people dodge him and move out of the way, but the 3rd person wasn't looking, and Michael ended up running straight into her crotch!  Jason grabbed Michael, politely apologized, and looked up to see who was hiding under the black cap.  To his amazement, it was Christina Aguilera...or so he thought.  We waited several minutes for that same group to exit the ride, and it was confirmed...it was Christina Aguilera!  She had curly blonde hair, pale white skin, and no stage makeup - no dark eye shadow, fake lashes, or ruby red lips.  You wouldn't be able to recognize her unless you remembered what she looked like in her Mickey Mouse Clubhouse days, just with blonde hair.  We didn't bother to ask for an autograph, but that's okay.

Anyway, we didn't snap any pictures that night, but this is our Buzz Lightyear Photo.  Michael can tell his friends when he grows up that he ran into Christina Aguilera's crotch!

Fall is Here!

The seasons DO change in California, well at least they do on our street.  The leaves on our trees may not change color, but they definitely fall...and it feels like they all fell and gathered in front of our house. Yep, just our house on the entire cul-de-sac.  So this morning on our way home from the mall, we bought a rake.  Michael dragged the rake around Sears all the way to the parking lot.  Many people giggled at Michael, his boots and his rake!  I laughed too!
What could be more entertaining for a boy than putting on some boots and playing in a pile of leaves?

Love his smile!

Let's see how effective Michael is with his rake upside down... Not bad, I must say.

Oops! He was doing a better job with it the wrong way!

Forget raking, let's just sit on the pile of leaves

And pick things out of them

Or throw it up in the air!

I'm over it, how about playing golf instead?

Miguelito is done. It's time to ride my tricycle.

With Michael's help, we filled up the entire garbage can, and yet our yard still looked untouched...that shows how much we had in our yard.  Thanks Michael for your help.  You always make my life so entertainingly interesting.
