Happy Thanksgiving!

We celebrated Thanksgiving with daddy's side of the family because the next day was Uncle Johnny's wedding day, and thus we were gonna be with mommy's side all black friday long. Guess that means no shopping! Anyway, we had a great time seeing those whom we don't see very often. Michael and Ethan had a blast giggling and playing together.

We have been so blessed this past year. I am so thankful for my family and friends and of course, Jason who works so hard so that I can stay home to take care of Michael. We are thankful we are all healthy, and hope this continues into the next year. Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

Show Me Your Happy Face

Lately it's been really difficult to get Michael to look into the camera and almost impossible to get him to smile. But I found a trick, if you ask him to show you his happy face, this is what he does: (if he's in the mood to show you of course)

Cribtime = playtime

Sports Practice: Day 3 - Tee-ball

We moved on to tee-ball today, and Michael was a little bit happier about that. Coach Corey showed us the baseball stance, how to do an L-step throw, run the bases, and hit a ball off the tee. Michael has such a strong arm; the ball went far every time he threw it. He participated a little bit more today than in the previous classes. I don't think he's warmed up to playing sports with other kids just yet. When he wasn't interested, he diverted his attention to the playground yet again.

Is it playtime yet??

Sports Practice: Day 2 - Soccer

So we tried something different and had Michael take a nap before practice. That didn't work out too well either. This time, he and almost every other kid wanted absolutely nothing to do with soccer! I guess it's time to move on to another sport... or just play in the playground.

Oh noo, soccer again??

Can't you see this makes us happy?

And this makes me even more happy

Sports Practice: Day 1 - Soccer

Michael and Ethan started their tri-sport camp today, beginning with soccer. They practiced how to dribble and score a goal. Coach Corey had them be like a train (a follow the leader technique) while dribbling the ball around the field, but Michael wasn't too enthused. He wanted to play basketball or baseball or be in the playground the entire time. I would say the heat and naptime had a lot to do with his mood. Hopefully, he'll be more excited next week.

Gosh, I know we just started, but are we done yet?

Look at the vein in Ethan's neck!
He's screaming out for Michael who walked away from practice

This is how Michael felt about soccer...
Michael: See ya! I'm outta here!

Hands In! Great job boys!

Once practice was over, the boys came alive because they got to play in the playground. It was like they flipped the switch as soon as something non-constructive was available to them! They were laughing and giggling the entire time. Haha, free fun is always more fun!

Trick or Treat!

We started off our Halloween celebration at Disneyland so that our little conductor could sport his costume and ride on the Disneyland train. He looked so good as a train conductor, and he knew it too! He was so proud to wear his costume, much like last year when he dressed up as Tigger. =) After our train ride, we stopped at Autopia to see if Michael was tall enough to ride, and yep, he finally made the height limit! Now, we have another ride to add to his list of rides at Disneyland. My boy is growing up.

I have an idea! Let's go to Disneyland!

Waiting to eat some pommes frites and a Monte Cristo sandwich!

All aboard!

The festivities continued in Nana's neighborhood where some of our friends met us up to go trick or treating. I think we had about 21 people in our group alone! Each kid walked at their own pace so we kind of got separated amongst the huge crowds. Michael did a fantastic job walking up to each door, holding out his bucket for candy, smiling (because he can't saying thank you yet) and walking away to the next house. He hasn't had a piece of candy in his life, and he still won't get to taste this year's candy. All he's entitled to eat from his bag of goodies are pretzels, popcorn and graham crackers. Everyone had a great time, and we can't wait to do it again. We're gonna try to dress up as a family next year!

One house gave out popcorn, and Michael loved it
I didn't notice it was jalapeno & cheese popcorn!

Pumpkin Carving

We couldn't wait to carve Michael's pumpkin this year! We wanted to do something a little more intricate than the regular toothless smiley pumpkin so we bought a carving kit. Since Michael has been a big fan of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland lately, we decided to carve his pumpkin into a pirate ship. It was a little difficult to carve the skull and so it ended up looking like an alien.

Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me...
