Soccer Practice
Practicing for Team Italy? Not quite...but they could use better players for future teams. We met up with Adelyn and her friends at the Brea Sports Park for lunch, and Michael turned it into soccer practice. He played with the dozens of balls that were left unattended by all the soccer camp kids, ran with the flags and waved them around like they were kites. He's getting to the age where he can play by himself while you sit and watch. =)

Las Vegas
Jason and I kicked off the vacation-week at Las Vegas for some adult fun. It's been quite a long time since we've been able to go out and stay out past our curfew of 11pm! Since we decided to spend only one night in Vegas, we made sure we made the most of it. After driving for 3 hours, we dropped off our luggage at the bell hop and casino-hopped all afternoon. We made our way from Treasure Island to Paris, which wasn't that far, but seemed so in 100 degree weather. A few alcoholic beverages seemed to cool us down though. It was nice to be able to drink all day; it made me feel young again. At night, we reconnected with a friend of mine from elementary school who hooked us up at Club Pure at Caesars Palace. Unlike the hundreds of people waiting to get in, we were able to walk in for free! I didn't have to be all hoochied out either. Yay for moms! Although we didn't come home big winners or losers, we still had a great time. Until next time...

Mother's Beach
We went to Mother's Beach in Long Beach to hang out with Adelyn and Charlie and a bunch of their friends. It's located in the marina so there aren't any waves and the beach is very flat so all moms out there can relax on their beach towels and enjoy the sun while the kids play. Is that why it's called Mother's Beach? It was quite relaxing except for the part when Michael pooped and had sand all over himself, from top to bottom and between his crack. To clean the sand off, we rinsed him in the water! Don't worry, we wiped him really good before...but I still wouldn't swallow the water if it ended up in my mouth. Oh yeah, we even saw two porpoises or dolphins in the harbor! That was very exciting.

Disney Three-peat
We tagged along with Mike, Kathy and Ethan at California Adventures today making it a three day Disney visit. To start off the visit on such a hot day, the boys played in the water fountains at 'A Bug's Land'. Michael would only go in the water if you held his hand. Why is he so shy when it comes to public water fountains? At home, he can run through our sprinklers or the neighbors without any hesitation. Then, we rode on Heimlich's Chew Chew Train and Fliks Flyers, which whirled around a lot faster than we expected; I got kind of dizzy!

Back to Back Fun
We were supposed to have an unlimited sushi lunchfest with the cousins in Buena Park, but due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to go to plan B...Disneyland! I told you these passes never fail. This time, we headed over to Toon Town to cool off in Mickey's house and play in Goofy's playground since there was only a handful of kids playing there. No bullies this time, thank goodness. Because it was pretty warm, we went on It's a Small World. If you want to cool off for about 13 minutes and be on a boat, this is the ride to be on (unless you can't stand the music)!

Disney in August!
It's August and we're at Disneyland! Why the excitement? It's because we were blocked off practically all summer last year with our So. Cal passes, and now that we've chosen to upgrade to Deluxe, we can play with Mickey and his friends in August too! These passes are worth every penny because if we didn't have any plans at any given day, we could always head to Disneyland for a few hours of fun. We rode on Monsters Inc, Mr. Toads Wild Ride, Pinocchio, and It's a Small World. Then we watched the fireworks show on our way out, as it was Michael's bedtime. For a few days now, Michael has been going to sleep between 9 and 10pm, and waking up around 8-830am. Let's hope this becomes the norm for him... I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
My First Responsibility
We went to Home Depot to find some plants or trees to add to the front of our house since all we have is a whole bunch of grass. All we came home with was a palm tree, but it was such a nice one! This is going to be Michael's first green friend. Since he loves playing out front with water, he's in charge of watering Mr. Palm. So far, he dug his bare hands into the soil and threw it on the floor...not a good start. Michael also helped daddy fix and replace the broken sprinklers. He handed his daddy a screwdriver and wrench when asked. What a handy helper. At the end, he ran through the sprinklers and got soaked!
