Soccer Week 2

This week, the kids took individual and team photos, and of course, we had to buy a big portrait package which included a bunch of photos and trading cards. I can't wait to see how they turned out! Michael did such a great job getting his photo taken. It was surprising since he's usually shy when strangers try to take his picture. One snap and he was done. =)

We weren't allowed to take pictures during the photoshoot so I tried to snap some of my own.

We're lucky to have found shorts that match the team shirt.

After the photoshoot, the kids had their first game. This is how they looked in their initial formation. And then everything went crazy. All I know is that AC Milan was greatly outnumbered. Half the team watched from the sidelines, including Michael. Haha!

See how nervous Michael is? He's picking at his nails while standing there. I hope he grows out of this nervous stage and decides to play with the team. We'll see how next week goes.

Team AC Milan

When Michael was 18 months old, we signed him up for a multisports class at a nearby park. He was definitely too young for any organized sport, but now that he's older and a sports-LOVER, we thought it would be a great time to try again. We signed him up for co-ed soccer at the Brea Community Center where the practices and games take place in their indoor gym!

So excited to meet his coach and teammates

*Coincidentally Ethan and Michael are on the same team! At first, Michael was so terrified to participate, but as soon as his team called out his name, he flipped the switch and was so excited to be a part of it. Here he was shushing Ethan in order to listen to the coach.

Team AC Milan!

During their ice breaker, the coach had each kid state their name, age and favorite show. Michael answered perfectly with his favorite show as Team Umizoomi. He also made a new friend named Garrett.

He was acting like such a clown that he got Garrett laughing!

They learned how to stop the ball with their feet...

And kick it into the goal.

GO AC MILAN!

Carsland!

At first, I was going to take Michael to visit the new Cars Land on opening day, but that would have been too chaotic. So instead, we decided to go a few days later thinking it would have been less hectic (not really), but we wanted to be one of its first week's visitors ever.
Michael was clearly tired on the ride to Disney, but he was so excited to see Cars Land!

He hasn't seen more than five minutes of Cars the movie, but he's already a big fan. First ride, Tow Mater's Junkyard. Surprisingly it was only about a half hour wait, and thankfully the line was fully shaded. They did a great job planning out the lines.

He didn't want to stand too close to Mater because he thought he was gonna get run over. This ride whips you around and around!
Next up was Radiator Springs Racers. After seeing that Michael didn't meet the minimum height requirement AND 240 minute wait time, we walked away from the ride. But as we were debating on what to do, a kind and generous lady handed me her fast passes. Our crazy idea of coming to Cars Land during it's opening week was like it was meant to be after all. We were on the ride in less than 30 minutes, and it was so awesome!

We waited about 100 minutes to get on Luigi's Tires. I'm surprised Michael waited in line for so long...it's a good lesson of patience in my opinion. (We did it once, but I'm not too sure if we'll wait that long ever again. lol) He was such a good sport.

It was our turn to get on the hovercraft...when Michael had an emergency potty break.

We had a great time on the ride, but it's pretty hard to maneuver AND try to reach for these humongous beach balls.

Anyleis, Carmel, Jenny and Dennis joined us for some fun as well.

Way to go, Disney! You did an incredible job bringing Cars Land to life!

Brave at Disney

Michael and I don't often have mommy and me dates at Disneyland because we're there almost every weekend as a family. But I'm glad we got a chance to hang out, just the two of us, because we had so much fun!
Surprisingly we cover more of the park when it's just the two of us. We met a few characters on Main Street and rode several rides in just a 5 hour time span.
We are getting better and better every time we ride Buzz. Before Michael consistently scored 4,000 but look at him his score now! Haha, he's still not tall enough for the pics.

He's three!
As soon as we got off 'It's a Small World', we saw a line for all these carnival-ish games plus archery. We had no idea what it was about, but we stood in line anyway. It turns out that Disney was coming out with a new movie called Brave with your not-so-typical princess.
This is Michael's first picture with a Disney Princess. This is Merida and her 3 bears or brothers. She was really sweet and took her time with Michael.

Vegas Vacation

We had a mini Vegas vacation with Jason's best buddies and wives to celebrate their 35th birthdays. Michael spent the weekend with Lolo, Lola, Tita Carmel and cousins. But he has trouble falling asleep anywhere besides his stroller or his own bed that Tita Carmel took him home every night

We spent the first night riding the Deuce and gambling downtown (my first time ever doing either). And I must admit, it was pretty fun. Maybe you have to be really intoxicated to do it? LOL jk. Then on Saturday, we spent the day at our very own cabana and had dinner at Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill. Jason and I played blackjack and craps, although I wasn't very lucky and was losing almost the whole time. Thank goodness my day to gamble is Sunday because I won back all that I had lost the previous days, and then some. =) It's nice to go home with some cash in your wallet.

Mother's Day Weekend

We have several mothers to celebrate so instead of having one day, we celebrated all weekend. =)

We started off the weekend at Gyu-Kaku, a Japanese BBQ place, where you grill your own meat and make s'mores!
The kids made a stepping stone for Nana.
Michael and Nana made this!
Actually, we made stepping stones for all the grandmas.

Then all the grandchildren on mommy's side hosted a bbq for all our mothers. Super good food and fun company.

Michael and Lauryn

Me and the reason why I get to celebrate this day. =)

Disneyland with Friends

Michael's friends and their moms played hooky today, and decided to spend the day at Disneyland. We didn't even call to see where to meet, but somehow we all bumped into each other and became one big group. Michael enjoyed being with all his girl friends and Logan. =)

Michael told the Autopia worker that he's 2 at Disneyland. When she asked if he's gonna have fun, he said he's gonna bump the car ahead of us really hard. LOL

Adelyn's first time on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
